Micronutrients are generally abundant in soil and can be utilized by plants as long as they remain available and are not lost through leaching, complexation with other elements, fixation on soil colloids, and other processes. However, in Iran, the high soil pH, high clay content, and high levels of carbonates and bicarbonates in many soils significantly limit micronutrient availability.
As a result, micronutrient deficiencies are among the most common nutritional problems in fruit orchards, significantly affecting crop yield and quality.
SOUL, utilizing LEINR technology, dramatically improves fertilizer-use efficiency and has been designed to increase root uptake of micronutrients by up to 90%, without interference from soil colloids.
In SOUL, each nutrient element is surrounded by an acidic coating. As soon as moisture reaches the stick and the required temperature and light conditions are provided, the coating is released, locally reducing soil pH. The pH-lowering agent used in SOUL is not a mineral acid. Unlike nitric acid, it does not cause salinity; unlike sulfuric acid, it does not damage the soil; and unlike phosphoric acid, it does not cause soil toxicity. This temporary, localized reduction in soil pH significantly increases micronutrient availability and uptake for up to 72 hours.
In addition, each micronutrient is protected by a unique chelated coating designed according to the specific chemistry of that element to maximize its availability and uptake.
For example, iron is chelated with EDDHA and EDDHSA, while zinc and manganese are protected by acetate and vinylamine chelated coatings, which can remain stable at pH levels of up to 10 and prevent micronutrients from being adsorbed by soil colloids.
