With a much higher abundance of oxygen-containing functional groups and a significantly lower carbon content than humic acid, fulvic acid can be absorbed through the leaf stomata, helping plants overcome low-light conditions on cloudy days. It can also increase the soil’s CEC.
99% PURE FULVIC ACID
FULVIC ACID is a complex mixture of weak aliphatic chains and aromatic organic acids that remains soluble in water across a wide range of pH conditions, including acidic, neutral, and alkaline environments. Due to its functional groups containing significantly more oxygen and less carbon than humic acid, FULVIC ACID is considerably more active than humic acid.
Because of its larger molecular size (10,000–100,000 Daltons), humic acid is more suitable for application to the growing medium, whereas FULVIC ACID, with its smaller molecular size (1,000–10,000 Daltons), can be readily absorbed through leaf stomata and is therefore suitable for foliar application.
Nevertheless, FULVIC ACID can also be used to restore and enrich the growing medium with organic matter. During leaching, a concentration of 0.3–0.6% may be applied through the hydroponic nutrient solution tank without other nutrients.
Despite its low molecular weight, FULVIC ACID has numerous functional groups and a very high oxygen content, giving it a high exchange capacity and enabling it to transport mineral nutrients several times its own weight.
